Tyler and Jake’s Jackson, Mississippi wedding was pure joy from start to finish. As a Jackson wedding photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to work with. Every moment, from their emotional first look at the Old Capitol Museum to their heartfelt ceremony at Fondren Church, reflected who they truly are.


Getting Ready for the Wedding


Tyler began her day surrounded by her closest friends and family. Her dress was absolutely stunning — the biggest gown in the bridal boutique, she told me — and it truly made her feel like Cinderella. Layers of tulle and lace floated behind her with every step, creating incredible movement in photos.


The getting ready images are full of laughter as Tyler’s bridesmaids helped with final touches. Her bouquet of roses, peonies and daisies paired perfectly with the bridesmaids’ soft pink dresses.


Meanwhile, Jake prepared with his groomsmen in an atmosphere that was equally relaxed. The guys looked sharp in navy suits with pink ties, pulling the wedding color palette together beautifully.


First Look at Old Capitol Museum


Our first stop was the Old Capitol Museum in Jackson, MS, a historic landmark that provided a timeless backdrop for portraits. The grand staircase, marble columns, and natural light created an elegant setting that will never go out of style.


When Jake turned around to see Tyler in front of the staircase, his face lit up with pure joy. Tyler’s massive gown created the most dramatic silhouette as she walked toward him. We captured portraits both inside the museum’s rotunda, where soft light streamed through the dome, and on the dramatic staircase.


Ceremony at Fondren Church


The ceremony took place at Fondren Church, a beautiful space with stained glass windows that filled the sanctuary with warm light. Tyler walked down the aisle with confidence and grace, her gown filling the width of the aisle as Jake watched with emotion.


The wedding party — bridesmaids in soft pink and groomsmen in navy — framed the couple perfectly at the altar. The traditional architecture of Fondren Church paired seamlessly with Tyler and Jake’s timeless style.


Reception at Old Capitol Inn


The celebration continued at Old Capitol Inn, a beloved Jackson wedding venue known for its charm and elegance. The ballroom’s exposed brick walls, crystal chandeliers, and rich wood floors created the perfect atmosphere for an evening of love and laughter.


Tyler and Jake’s grand entrance was pure magic — Tyler’s gown flowing dramatically as they walked hand-in-hand into the ballroom. Their first dance was sweet and relaxed, and the candid photos show them fully immersed in the moment, ignoring the crowd and focusing only on each other.


Tyler surprised Jake by performing a song just for him, and this tender moment was so special to capture.


The night was filled with incredible food, lively music, and a packed dance floor. The evening ended with a sparkler send-off and a vintage white getaway car — the perfect romantic exit.


Special Wedding Details


Florals: Tyler’s bouquet of white and pink with roses, peonies, daisies and more mirrored in the bridesmaids’ smaller bouquets.

Fashion: Tyler wore a show-stopping ball gown was the star of the show.

Details: Vintage ring box, elegant invitation suite, and her wedding shoes peeking out from beneath her gown all told the story of the day.


Why This Wedding Was Special

Tyler and Jake didn’t want stiff poses or overly staged photos. They wanted images that felt like their actual memories. That trust allowed me to capture the day exactly as it unfolded — Jake’s emotional first look, Tyler’s radiant smile during the ceremony, and the quiet, joyful moments in between.


This wedding was a reminder of why I love being a wedding photographer in Jackson, MS: when couples are truly present and relaxed, the photos naturally become timeless.

Tyler and Jake’s wedding at the Old Capitol Museum, Fondren Church, and Old Capitol Inn was a perfect blend of elegance, history, and heartfelt emotion. Every detail was intentional, but it was their joy and authenticity that made the day unforgettable.
